Planning your personal life
Uhm, what? Do I have to plan my personal life too???
You are awfully good at planning your professional life. As a busy manager you know how to make the most of your time at work.
Then you go home and time isn’t the same. You’re feeling less energetic lately and much more stressed out, even when you leave work.
Menopause definitely has got a grip on you. So, life at home feels harder now too.
The fact that you’re not in your optimum state doesn’t help either.
You run from one thing to another or you’re running after your kids. Even more stress and sometimes you even feel a bit neurotic.
Guilty too, because you don’t want your family to suffer from your bad moods.
You’re so fed up with it but you can’t seem to find the way to change it.
It’s just something you have to get over… or at least that’s what you think.
Time. To. Think. Again.
So. Not. True.
A lot of times, what you think is a pattern.
Something you have done over and over again and it gets ingrained in your brain.
A neural pathway has been created at some stage.
Now, you don’t question this anymore, it’s just what you do and think.
Let me say that you CAN change this. It’s time to create new neural pathways, to upgrade your thinking.
But first you’ll have to be aware.
A large percentage of our day we’re just on automatic pilot. Very necessary at times because we don’t need to stop and think about a lot of things.
For example, who needs to be aware of which leg to put in our pants first? Or how to tie our shoelaces?
But if we’re in that state of autopilot, we don’t question things, nor can we change them. Therefore, it’s time to return to conscious living.
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1 :
Stop and sit down. This is my favorite step and so difficult for many women. Although they’re highly organized at work, they’re not always so at home. Make a list of all the things you (have to) do when you get home.
Step 2:
Then write down what you want to achieve, and also the things that aren’t really necessary (anymore). Get rid of the latter and find ways to get to the things you want to do that give you satisfaction and joy.
If you need help from your family members, now is the right time to ask for it!
Step 3:
Take baby steps towards your ideal afternoon/evening, be consistent and build up over time.
I hope this helps to organize your personal life a little more, but if it feels daunting or if you’re still wondering how to do this exactly, then by all means get on a call with me.
I can certainly help you get back in your optimal state at home too.
Don’t wait, don’t overthink, book your session now!
With love and health,
