Watching The Ceiling At Night And Want To Sleep Desperately?
I HEAR YOU!
I was once where you are now.
Tossing and turning and not being able to sleep. Maybe I’d fall asleep ok but then in the middle of the night I would just wake up. Or maybe hot flushes were bothering me, or night sweats.
Soooo annoying!!
I remember the days where I just had to drag myself out of bed. With very little energy and in a not so pleasant mood, to say the least.
I was just so frikkin’ tired.
Then I decided this had to change.
I dug into the literature and just researched anything I could get my hands on.
AND, I was my own guinea pig.
Some things worked. Some didn’t. So, now I have a list that works for me.
I keep investigating always however.
Do you know that sleep is related to many other things? If you don’t sleep well you may gain weight, your stress level will be higher, you’re more susceptible for depression, aging and many diseases. This is not to scare you, it’s just to make you aware of the importance of sleep.
Also, you have to know that every body is different. What might work for me, might not work for you. But eventually there is always something that works. You only have to investigate.
If you can’t sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there worrying. It’s the worry that gets you, not the lack of sleep.
~ Dale Carnegie~
I will list some of things that I love to do and that set me up for decent sleep at night:
- I close any electronic device 1,5 hours before going to bed. I’m no longer on my phone anymore and only take phone calls (and I use earbuds)
- I wind down. I will do light chores around the house. I will have a warm shower, do some reading or breathwork
- I have valerian tea. Valerian root is known for its soothing and relaxing effect and is prescripted to people with sleep disorders
- I sleep in a cold, dark bedroom.
- I use Magnesium oil on my forearms right before going to bed
There are many more things you can do to prepare for a good night’s sleep, but you just have to figure out what works for you. Or we can work this out together.
Also it’s great to know what kind of sleeping ‘BIRD’ you are to adjust your schedule to your bird type.
This will help you achieve a natural Circadian Rhythm (sleep/wake cycle)
Are you curious to know what kind of bird you are?
Or maybe you’re tired of not sleeping the right amount of hours during the night and you aren’t functioning during the day as you want to?
Or maybe you’re very low on energy?
Then I definitely would like to advise you to get on a call with me and let’s figure out together where you struggle.
You can choose between two options; a free 20 minutes call, or a longer 50 minutes call, for only 29 euros.
Don’t wait or overthink it. Click here now and let’s see if we can get you a decent night’s sleep again! 😉
With love and health,
